A young business professional, this homeowner purchased a classic cottage in the popular Green Lake neighborhood with a plan to modestly remodel and maximize his investment. In phase one, Blue Canyon focused on restoring the home's exterior while replicating the original design and cosmetically hiding the effects of time on the nearly 80-year-old home. As the homeowner often entertains for large family gatherings, phase two sought to improve and update the kitchen and deck area. Once separated by a narrow door that blocked traffic flow, Blue Canyon opened the entryway to create a more inviting space with the kitchen and deck widely open to one another. To complete the look, the kitchen was gutted and outfitted with new cabinets, appliances, and fixtures, as well as floor and counter treatments for a modern feel that still maintains the home's traditional charm.
